The Substitute School Nurse will be responsible for providing health services to students and staff in our schools. This includes administering medications, providing first aid, and monitoring student health.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize and administer school health services in assigned schools
  • Implement school health policies and programs
  • Provide health counseling to students, parents, and staff
  • Keep accurate and comprehensive health records
  • Monitor student compliance with state-mandated immunization requirements
  • Conduct and/or oversee vision and hearing screening
  • Care for emergencies and sudden illnesses occurring at school
  • Monitor students with special health needs
  • Formulate, revise, and implement individual health plans
  • Assist instructional staff with health education programs
  • Participate in the District Coordinated School Health Committee
Requirements:
  • Board-certified graduate of a licensed registered nurse program
  • Current Indiana nursing license
  • Current certificate in CPR/AED
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of experience as a registered nurse in a related field
  • Pediatric experience, including adolescents
  • Ability to create partnerships with teachers, students, parents, and community
  • Treat students with respect while displaying high personal integrity and ethics
Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position, working as needed during the school year.

Salary and Benefits:

$21.00 per hour (Schedule #22.2sub)

This position is not eligible for benefits.
