The Goshen Community Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Preschool Paraprofessional to join our team.

Job Summary

The Preschool Paraprofessional will work under the supervision of classroom teachers and speech therapists to assist students with personal, social, and instructional needs. This role requires a strong ability to follow directions, adapt to changing situations, and maintain confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with maintaining children's safety and well-being, including lifting and transferring students as needed.
  • Support students with personal needs, such as diapering, dressing, feeding, and toileting.
  • Implement activities and skill practice developed by teachers from the Individualized Education Program (IEP).
  • Assist students with alternative modes of communication and provide instruction in school and community settings.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and confidentiality.
  • Provide general supervision to students under the teacher's direction.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One of the following: 48 hours of college credit or higher, Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, ParaPro Assessment with a score of 460 or higher, or completion of 10 modules in the online training platform Paraeducator within 2 months of employment.
  • Related experience and/or training preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn and grow.
