The Research Contract Specialist will support faculty and staff by reviewing research agreements from federal, state, foundation, and industry sponsors. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple deadlines and thrive in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Review and Negotiation: Review and negotiate complex research agreements, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
- Sponsored Projects Coordination: Coordinate with internal offices to resolve issues related to sponsored projects, including intellectual property and export control.
- Proposal Submission and Award Management: Develop familiarity with online systems used by federal, state, and private agencies for proposal submission and award management.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to sponsored projects.
- Communication and Teamwork: Assist and support staff in the Office of Research Services, maintaining effective communication with coworkers.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree and at least one year of legal experience or five years of contract review experience.
- Experience: Additional job-related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
