About the Job

As a Private Duty Nurse LPN with Aveanna Healthcare, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care in the comfort of our patients' homes. Your primary focus will be on delivering skilled nursing care, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, in accordance with the developed care plan and physicians' orders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver quality patient care: Provide skilled nursing care, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, in accordance with the developed care plan and physicians' orders.
  • Assess patient needs: Continuously observe and assess patient condition and care needs, reporting changes in condition to the supervisor and/or physician as appropriate.
  • Document care: Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses, and coordination of care in a timely manner whenever care is delivered.
  • Update care plans: Participate, implement, and update the nursing care plan to ensure effective patient outcomes.
  • Implement infection control measures: Utilize infection control measures that protect both staff and patients according to OSHA standards.
  • Educate patients and families: Educate patients and families regarding the disease process, self-care techniques, and prevention strategies to meet patient's nursing needs.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures.
  • Additional state-specific requirements:
  • South Carolina: One year of pediatrics experience.
  • California: One year of experience required working under current nursing license.
  • Louisiana: One year of experience required working as a licensed nurse.
  • Continuing Education as required by state.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting.
  • Home health experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting.
Estimated Salary:

$60,000 - $80,000 per year (dependent on location and experience)
