We are a leading provider of catering services for special events, seeking an experienced Culinary Team Lead to join our team.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

Job Description

The Culinary Team Lead will oversee the on-site culinary team members, ensuring they are properly attired and present at all times. This includes supervising unloading and setup of culinary areas and workstations, including mobile kitchens.

The successful candidate will demonstrate positive leadership skills, providing regular feedback and coaching to their team. They will lead their team in preparing, heating, plating, and garnishing food according to the event timeline and Special Event Order (SEO). Ensuring safe food handling procedures are followed throughout the event is also a critical aspect of this role.

The Culinary Team Lead will work closely with the Event Supervisor to ensure all necessary food and equipment are loaded onto the truck. Additionally, they will drive to and from the event in the company truck with the Event Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise on-site culinary team members
  • Direct unloading and setup of culinary areas and workstations
  • Demonstrate positive leadership and provide regular feedback
  • Lead team in preparing, heating, plating, and garnishing food
  • Ensure safe food handling procedures are followed
  • Work with Event Supervisor to load necessary food and equipment
  • Drive to and from the event in the company truck
Qualifications

To be successful as a Culinary Team Lead, you will require:

  • 2 years of culinary leadership experience in catering or restaurant settings, preferably in high-volume, upscale environments
  • Working knowledge of cooking techniques, including grilling, roasting, and baking for fish, steak, poultry, and pork
  • Proficiency in batch, quantity cooking, and proper heating, holding, and plating techniques
  • Familiarity with HACCP and health department guidelines
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
  • Able to regularly lift, move, and carry up to 50lbs
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on developmental leadership style
  • Food Handler Certification and FL Driver's License
  • Fluent English language skills, with excellent written and verbal communication
