Nortera is a leading company in ready-to-cook vegetables, committed to providing healthy and sustainable food to society. As a Production Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the production system within control limits, ensuring food safety compliance, and meeting customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct supervision for production operations on a shift basis.
  • Utilize operations data to facilitate decisions that maintain the production system within control limits.
  • Act as an active participant in employee orientation, training, and follow-up to assure that facility policies and procedures are followed.
  • Participate in the development of annual production goals and standards.
  • Work in conjunction with the Raw Product Supplier and facility Quality Department to ensure food safety compliance and meet customer requirements.
  • Implement daily production schedules within quality guidelines controlled by the production system.
  • Work with other supervisors to manage the entire facility's housekeeping and sanitation programs within established guidelines and expectations.
  • Direct seasonal sanitation labor force on each shift during the processing season.
  • Maintain facility structure, overheads, painting, grounds, etc.
  • Coordinate with other departments to minimize and plan effective utilization of downtime.
  • Assure employee safety guidelines and policies are followed by conducting or following OSHA programs, safety training, and safety audits.
  • Actively participate in monthly safety meetings and environmental compliance programs.
  • Implement and assure compliance with facility and corporate food safety guidelines, Federal Regulations/GMP, and the facility foreign material control program.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the HACCP program.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of the facility's continuous improvement and training program(s).
  • Actively participate in facility quality improvement programs.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain production process and system flow charts.
  • Assist the raw products group relative to quality improvement efforts.
  • Responsible for assigned Fixed Cost budget accounts. Budget preparation for assigned accounts, maintaining expenses within budget, providing cost projections and periodic updates, and providing variance explanations.
Requirements:
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong teamwork-based management skills.
  • Self-motivator.
  • Ability to support business needs in a multiple-shift environment, including weekends and holidays, and off-shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prefer one year of leadership experience, frozen food processing experience, or equivalent combination of education and food processing experience.
  • Require experience with computer software including Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe, Google, some web-based systems, and some mainframe software.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university in a specialized field or related field, preferred.
  • Available to work 2 pm - 10 pm M-F June to November, and 6 am to 4 pm November to June.
