Position Summary:
EPI Power is seeking a qualified Electrical Quality Control (QC) Inspector to enhance our team. This vital position is accountable for ensuring that construction activities adhere to project-specific codes, standards, and specifications by planning, inspecting, documenting, and organizing tasks to enhance project site efficiencies. The QC Inspector evaluates ongoing electrical work on-site to ensure compliance with both company and client expectations, addressing any identified issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehend project scope and quality expectations, contract documents, site drawings, manufacturer product data/manuals, and company quality plans and standards; ensure construction aligns with these parameters.
- Schedule, perform, and assess various site inspections, quality monitoring, and oversight of daily and forthcoming work.
- Develop inspection and testing plans; document testing, measurements, inspection reports, and other quality-related documentation; maintain essential quality-related files and compile necessary documents for project handover to the owner.
- Identify and report instances of non-conforming work, track them in a non-conformance log, and assist in generating related reports.
- Supervise the creation and review of daily construction reports, field observation reports, punch lists, quality reports, and as-built drawings.
- Stay informed about federal, industry, and company standards - educate project teams on compliance requirements and changes.
- Collaborate with the project safety team to identify hazards and establish processes to mitigate or eliminate risks.
- Ensure that inspections, observations, and punch lists are accurately documented and stored.
- Monitor project site compliance with the company quality plan and standards, proposing updates or modifications to management as necessary.
- Utilize both virtual and physical mock-ups to set quality standards and identify lean processes to enhance field productivity.
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Proven electrical background with experience in a quality control role is essential.
- OSHA certification is advantageous.
- Skills:
- Solid understanding of construction standards, codes of practice, and regulations related to electrical work.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- A strong desire to work in a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
- Technology:
- Proficient in basic computer applications including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Willingness to learn specific job-related software upon hiring.
