Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, including cognitive evaluations and safety assessments, to determine the most effective occupational therapy modalities.
  • Design and lead groups and programs that promote functional, sensorimotor, educational, recreational, and social activities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.
  • Ensure adherence to professional standards, mental health regulations, and state laws.
  • Maintain a patient-centered approach, involving family members in the care plan as needed.
  • Ensure confidentiality and patient privacy.
  • Document patient care, meet chart review standards, and submit billing as required.
  • Address patient concerns and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Seek consultations as necessary and act as a consultant when requested.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • At least two years of experience as an occupational therapist, with a minimum of one year in a psychiatric setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current license to practice Occupational Therapy in Maryland.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Working Conditions

Employees in this position may be exposed to blood-borne pathogens and patients who are agitated.

This role requires heavy physical exertion, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds, frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, and constant lifting of up to 20 pounds.
