Food Service Worker Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Food Service Worker to join our team at an area hospital. This is a temporary to hire position that requires flexibility in scheduling, with shifts taking place between 5:00am and 7:30pm. The hourly pay rate is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and portion food items according to assigned quantities for meal services.
  • Set up serving stations with correct signage and ensure a smooth food ordering process.
  • Stock supplies and maintain a clean and organized workspace in preparation for meal periods.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation policies to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
  • Deliver food to patients as needed and maintain a high level of customer service.
  • Complete all necessary prep work for the next day to ensure a seamless operation.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience in food service is required.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift/push/pull up to 20 pounds.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to hear and respond to customer needs.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays is necessary.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain proof of immunization records.
  • Pass all pre-employment screening, including background checks and drug tests.
