Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Millwright Technician to join our team at McDermott. The successful candidate will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, layout plans, and other schematic drawings to determine work procedures.

The ideal candidate will have experience in dismantling machines using hand tools, moving machinery and equipment using hoists and dollies, and assembling and installing equipment using cranes and power tools.

The Millwright Technician will also be responsible for constructing foundations for machines using hand tools and building materials, aligning machines and equipment using hoists and jacks, and performing lubricating maintenance and cleaning activities.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols, and will be able to work at heights without fear.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, layout plans, and other schematic drawings
  • Dismantle machines using hand tools
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists and dollies
  • Assemble and install equipment using cranes and power tools
  • Construct foundations for machines using hand tools and building materials
  • Align machines and equipment using hoists and jacks
  • Perform lubricating maintenance and cleaning activities

Requirements:

  • NCCER+ or equivalent certification
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation
  • Experience in forecasting and planning of project requirements
  • Experience in creating short-range look-ahead for Foreman to execute
  • Experience in monitoring cost and man-hour budgets

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in Construction or related topic
  • Basic understanding of IT systems, including Email and MS Office
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written
