POSITION SUMMARY
The Guest Services Associate is responsible for ensuring a welcoming experience for hotel guests by managing room assignments, issuing keys, and maintaining accurate records of guest accounts. This role includes making reservations, processing payments, and providing information about hotel amenities and local attractions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
  • Welcoming guests upon arrival and efficiently checking them into their rooms.
  • Maintaining accurate records of room availability and guest accounts, either manually or through computer systems.
  • Issuing room keys and providing directions to the luggage staff.
  • Handling incoming messages and correspondence through the telephone system.
  • Sorting and distributing mail and messages received.
  • Assisting with reservation requests and confirmations.
  • Responding to guest inquiries regarding hotel services, local dining, entertainment options, and travel directions.
  • Safeguarding guest valuables in the hotel safe or assisting with secure storage options.
  • Recording charges for room services, food, beverages, and other amenities, and processing payments accurately.
  • Collecting deposits or payments and managing credit transactions.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; one year of relevant experience or training is preferred, or a suitable combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Ability to read and understand basic instructions, short communications, and memos. Proficient in writing simple correspondence and effectively presenting information in individual and small group settings.

MATHEMATICAL APTITUDE
Competence in basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret data presented in graphs.

Capability to compute various figures and amounts such as discounts and commissions, and apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.

PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS
Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in various formats. Competence in addressing issues involving multiple concrete variables in standardized scenarios.

Ability to tackle practical problems and navigate diverse situations with limited standardization, interpreting various forms of instructions.
