Role Overview
This position presents a remarkable opportunity to contribute to the development of the FP&A function within a rapidly expanding pre-IPO startup, as part of Verkada's dynamic Strategic Finance team. As an integral early member of this team, you will serve as a key partner across various departments, providing essential financial insights, fostering rigorous decision-making, and promoting operational excellence to elevate Verkada's scalability and operational sophistication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary FP&A liaison for leaders in Marketing, Sales, and associated support teams (including Sales Operations, Sales Development, Solutions Engineering, and Channel Sales).
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and ad hoc analysis for these departments, enhancing overall financial discipline and predictability.
- Identify and implement strategies to optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency, collaborating cross-functionally to effectuate these changes.
- Enhance the Finance team's impact through improved tools, self-service automation, and refined internal processes.
- Exhibit a proactive approach to problem-solving, balancing immediate challenges with long-term strategic initiatives.
- 3-5+ years of relevant professional experience. Candidates should have a background in Strategic Finance, FP&A, Business Operations, or other analytical roles within a fast-paced startup environment, with potential prior experience in investment banking or management consulting.
- Strong analytical skills coupled with advanced financial modeling capabilities. Ability to translate complex business concepts into structured spreadsheet models, with a willingness to learn new analytical tools and derive insights from data. Familiarity with SQL and modern BI platforms (e.g., Pigment) is advantageous.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strategic thinking. Ensure precision in outputs while recognizing critical elements that influence decision-making.

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $130,000-$160,000 USD.
