Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at Quality of Life Health Services. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our dentists during patient examinations and treatments, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare patients for dental treatment, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  2. Accurately chart patient dental records, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  3. Arrange dental trays and equipment according to scheduled treatments, ensuring optimal workflow.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized oral operating area, adhering to OSHA guidelines and infection control protocols.
  5. Prepare restorative materials and dental cements, following established protocols.
  6. Assist dentists during all procedures, providing exceptional patient care and support.
  7. Sterilize instruments using autoclaves or chemical disinfectants, ensuring equipment is properly maintained.
  8. Develop and mount dental x-rays as required, adhering to radiation safety guidelines.
  9. Enter treatment data and maintain accurate patient records, ensuring timely and efficient communication with dentists and other healthcare professionals.
  10. Perform clerical and stenographic duties, including answering phones and responding to patient inquiries.
  11. Maintain inventory levels and order supplies, ensuring a well-stocked and efficient dental environment.
  12. Perform routine maintenance on treatment equipment, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of patient information, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and Quality of Life Health Services' confidentiality policies.
  14. Follow up on broken appointments, ensuring timely and efficient communication with patients and dentists.
  15. Take and record patient blood pressure, adhering to established protocols.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Certification of completion of a dental assistant course at a vocational school is required.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact successfully with patients, dentists, and other healthcare professionals.
  4. Knowledge of oral anatomy and standards of oral hygiene, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
