IAS seeks candidates who are eager to gain experience in the agriculture industry across various domains: Operations, Transportation, or Customer Service. Ideal candidates are typically current students or high school individuals interested in pursuing agricultural studies and seeking entry-level work experience. Applicants must be at least 18 years old to be considered. The program will run for a specified duration.
Job Roles
Innovative Ag Services provides experience in the following departments:
Customer Service – Responsible for delivering customer service and accurate accounting functions at the location for the benefit of IAS and its member owners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage counter sales and handle incoming calls courteously.
- Oversee the weighing of grain and farm supply products; assess incoming grain quality.
- Assist in processing daily grain tickets as necessary.
- Communicate grain transactions and transportation requirements.
- Maintain inventory control, conduct physical counts, and ensure accurate billing.
Operations – Provide daily operational support efficiently and safely, including unloading and loading grain trucks, managing grain bins, and filling ammonia tanks and fertilizer trucks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain assigned equipment and facilities.
- Assist with preventative maintenance activities and documentation.
- Support the distribution of farm supply products and grain as assigned.
- Adhere to company policies and safety procedures.
- Project a positive, professional image to customers and the community.
- Ideal candidates should be capable of managing multiple projects independently while prioritizing accuracy.
- Comfort with heights and occasional climbing is required.
Transportation – Ensure safe and efficient transportation of commodities and farm supply products for the benefit of IAS and its member owners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Possess a valid driver's license and/or the ability to obtain necessary licensure for hauling.
- Transport agronomy products from the facility to farms.
- Operate and maintain assigned equipment and facilities.
- Assist with preventative maintenance activities and documentation.
- Follow company policies and safety procedures.
- Project a positive, professional image to customers and the community.
Additional Requirements and Preferred Skills for All Positions
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Exhibit a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment to completing tasks efficiently.
- Ability to organize, adapt to change, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Strong interpersonal skills, good phone etiquette, ability to follow directions, and meet deadlines.
- Ideal candidates are typically current students or high school individuals interested in agricultural studies seeking entry-level work experience.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Adaptability:
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry objects weighing a minimum of 50 pounds. Flexibility to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs is necessary. Requires trunk strength and the ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles repeatedly over time. Some tasks may involve repetitive motion.
- Work environment may involve exposure to seasonal weather, outdoor conditions, and agricultural products.
- Personal Protective Equipment may be necessary for certain tasks.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age to apply and be considered.
- Completion of a Drug Screen and Background Check prior to hire.
- This program may fulfill internship or work experience requirements.
