Freeform: Revolutionizing Metal 3D Printing
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design efforts and drive innovation at our cutting-edge company, Freeform. Located in Hawthorne, CA, we offer a unique opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing team scaling a world-changing technology.
About the Role:
This is a high-impact position that requires extensive technical breadth in mechanical engineering concepts and specific expertise in architecting, designing, and developing complex mechanical systems, advanced robotics systems, or state-of-the-art industrial automation systems. As a technical lead, you will work across engineering disciplines to deliver complex mechanical systems.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative solutions for mechanical components, subassemblies, equipment, and systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring hardware from concept to production
- Design and test complex mechanical components, subassemblies, equipment, and systems
- Analyze tolerance and perform feasibility studies on designs
- Work hands-on to build, integrate, and validate designs and newly developed systems and/or subsystems
- Strategize continuous improvement plans to enhance system performance, reliability, and manufacturability
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical systems design and development
- CAD experience, including GD&T and detailed drawing documentation
- Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals with extensive hands-on hardware development experience
- Systems-level thinker also able to perform detailed work; has previously delivered complex mechanical systems
