We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Specialist to join our team at Freeform in Hawthorne, CA. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in fabricating, assembling, testing, and developing custom hardware for our advanced metal 3D printing factory systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • SUPPORT PRINTING OPERATIONS such as vacuuming powder, removing finished parts from the system, and resurfacing and loading fresh build plates
  • OPERATE VARIOUS MANUFACTURING TOOLS including lathes, mills, bandsaws, grinders, precision drills, and wire EDMs
  • WORK WITH CUSTOM ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING MACHINERY, HANDLE METAL POWDERS, PROCESS METAL 3D PRINTED PARTS
  • Maintain equipment including air compressors, water chillers, inert gas systems and general machine/fabrication shop equipment
  • Read and utilize schematics (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic) to troubleshoot systems down to the component level

Nice to Have:

  • Experience interpreting schematics and/or blueprints
  • Use of precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 30lbs unassisted
  • Ability to climb ladders and be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Must be available and willing to work overtime when needed
