Key Responsibilities:
- Create a nurturing and structured classroom atmosphere that fosters learning for every student.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and instructional leaders to adapt teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning needs.
- Regularly assess student progress, analyze educational data, and implement effective instructional adjustments.
- Ensure that all instructional methods are inclusive, addressing the needs of students with disabilities, English Language Learners, and those who may be struggling academically.
- Build strong relationships with students and their families, maintaining open lines of communication regarding academic progress and support.
- Engage in ongoing professional development focused on issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion, reflecting on personal biases and their impact on teaching practices.
Qualifications:
- Preferred experience in teaching Special Education at the middle or high school level.
- Must possess a valid Massachusetts teaching license in the appropriate content area (Moderate Disabilities) and grade level.
- Experience advocating for equity and anti-racism in educational settings is preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
