Who you are: We seek an experienced Critical Care Technician to fill our swing shift Wed-Sat. You will serve as the vital support to our veterinarians, ensuring the highest level of care and comfort for our clients' cherished pets. Your dedication and passion for enhancing lives through superior pet care are essential. You thrive in a dynamic environment that fosters your growth and supports your development, enabling you to reach your full potential. Most importantly, you enjoy working with animals and their owners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care for critical cases, consistently assessing the patient.
- Calculate CRIs and deliver advanced hospitalization care.
- Conduct in-house laboratory tests.
- Demonstrate proficiency in IV catheter placement.
- Deliver accurate and detailed patient rounds.
- Ensure safe restraint for anxious and frightened patients.
- Obtain TPRs, maintain medical records, and recognize when to alert the DVM.
- Advocate for both the patient and the client.
- High school diploma.
- 2+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary field.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with staff and clients, demonstrating tact, patience, professional courtesy, and maintaining confidentiality and discretion as appropriate.
- An active CA state RVT license is preferred but not mandatory.
- 4/10 schedule Wed-Sat Swing Shift 12pm-10pm
- A $3 hourly shift differential is offered for swing shifts.
- Pay range: RVT $30 - $40 /hr VA $26- $34/hr.
- Full-time benefits include health, dental, vision, disability and life insurances, flex-spending accounts, 401(k), Employee Assistance Program, 3 weeks accrued paid time off, and uniforms.
