Additionally, the Co-op is committed to serving as an educational hub for the community on ecological, environmental, and food-related topics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome customers with a friendly demeanor, ensuring to make eye contact.
  • Efficiently process customer transactions, ensuring accuracy in pricing and departmental categorization.
  • Ensure all products in the department are clearly labeled with price tags.
  • Organize stock by placing older items at the front to make room for new inventory.
  • Identify and manage short-dated or subpar items, adhering to established protocols for documentation and disposal.
  • Maintain well-stocked displays without overcrowding, ensuring items are neatly arranged on shelves.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to customer inquiries regarding products, directing them to other staff when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness by promptly addressing spills, removing trash, and keeping floors tidy.
  • Handle phone calls and messages, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate personnel.
  • Notify relevant team members of pricing discrepancies, PLU errors, and unmarked items.
  • Support various departments as needed.
  • Be available to work flexible hours throughout the week, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
