Department/Unit Summary
The operating room is a critical area within our healthcare facility, equipped with six beds and managing an average of 400 surgical cases monthly. Our diverse range of specialties includes Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Cataract and Retinal Eye surgeries, Gynecologic, Laparoscopic and Endoscopic, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Plastic and Reconstructive, Prostate, and Gastroenterological surgeries. The majority of procedures performed are general and orthopedic in nature. Surgical operations are scheduled Monday through Friday, with additional night, weekend, and holiday on-call rotations to ensure comprehensive coverage.

Qualifications and Requirements
A graduate of an accredited BSN program is required, with a Master's Degree preferred. A current, unencumbered Registered Nurse License in North Carolina or from a Compact State is necessary. Candidates should have a minimum of five years of progressive operating room nursing experience, demonstrating managerial, supervisory, and administrative competencies.
Additional requirements include:
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
- One year of experience in a managerial role is preferred
