Job Title: Applications Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Applications Consultant to join our team at The Auto Club Group. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting complex to moderately complex information systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, designing, developing, implementing, and/or supporting of complex to moderately complex new or revised processes, systems, or networks.
  • Act as an acknowledged expert in one or more technical specialties and/or mission critical application systems, and provide leadership in design, development, and application integration.
  • Ensure functional and technical designs support customer requirements.
  • Develop an understanding of the Auto Club Group business strategy and competitive environment and translate and implement business strategies into technology solutions.
  • Provide a high degree of technical and/or application expertise and design/programming leadership.
  • Assist the Security team in the development of appropriate audit controls and procedures to ensure the integrity and protection of company resources.
  • Develop work plans and estimates projects and ensure that project team(s) and/or plan deliverables remain on schedule and budget.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or an equivalent level of work experience.
  • Experience in designing, developing, implementing, or supporting complex to moderately complex information systems.
  • Experience in building or supporting mainframe or distributed systems.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex business/technical problems.
  • Knowledge of technology assessment, recommendations, and selection.
  • Ability to provide technical consultation/leadership to project teams.
  • Experience in staffing, coordinating/leading a large project team or a variety of small project teams.
  • Ability to budget and expense control.
  • Experience in mainframe, distributed, and/or Web-based system design and development.
  • Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., IMS, DB, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server).
  • Knowledge of PC fundamental software tools (e.g., MS Office).
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., COBOL, JAVA, HTML, XML, C++).
  • Experience in prototyping.
  • Knowledge of database design.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and techniques.
  • Multi-platform capabilities.
  • User interaction.
  • HTML and web development tools.
  • System development tools (e.g., Endevor, IMS Expert, Xpediter, SQA Team Test, Eclipse).
  • Integration.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in an insurance environment or other service industry.
  • Joint Application Design (JAD)/Rapid Application Design (RAD) techniques.
  • Database modeling experience.
  • SCRUM/Agile Methodologies.
  • Tableau or Python BI certification.
Work Environment:

This is a hybrid work arrangement (time spent in office and remote). Depending on the employee's role and leadership's assessment, some employees will come into an ACG facility on a weekly basis, a monthly basis, or on an 'as needed' basis for key meetings and collaborative activities.

Most employees will be required to come into the office, at a minimum, for important departmental meetings or teambuilding events.

Candidates will be required to report in office every second Wednesday of the month and must live within 50 miles of an ACG administrative office building.

Total Compensation Overview:

The ACG Applications Consultant will earn an annual salary of $91,120,000.00 with annual bonus potential based on performance.
