The Walsh Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Project Site Nurse to support our Healthcare Building Division on a healthcare project located in Lexington, KY.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the care of ill and injured workers, including return to work assessments/evaluations while collaborating with the safety/healthcare team.
- Engage with site and regional medical resources to support clinical activities, including following medical triage protocols, conducting virtual screenings, following confinement guidelines, and planning appropriate return to work per standard operating procedures.
- Conduct injury/illness assessments.
- Administer medical screenings, such as blood pressure checks, vision tests, breathalyzer tests, and urine drug screenings for new hire employees and random screenings.
- Ensure compliance with health aspects and medical testing requirements of OSHA 1904 and company health & safety standards.
- Attain/maintain current knowledge of site risks/hazards, including chemical, biological, and physical hazards, and participate in reviews and overall risk assessments.
- Provide health coaching that optimizes employee health and well-being by conducting screening tests and follow-up, including appropriate referrals.
- Proactively work on promoting a healthy living culture to improve employee health and well-being, through championing wellness programs recommended by the project site.
- Administer the procedures of the occupational and environmental health and safety program consistent with the company's general policies concerning health services.
- Function as a subject matter expert on case management, including worker's compensation without lost time, work-related and personal restrictions, and appropriate referrals.
- Assess the healthcare needs of employees and employee populations.
- Assist with the accident investigation process with the safety team to identify root cause analysis of all incidents and near misses.
- Evaluate and treat all injuries and illnesses in an efficient and professional manner within the scope of practice and consistent with clinical nursing guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Medical Director to arrange for further medical treatment, as needed.
- Assess healthcare needs, then implement and manage healthcare programs to improve health and facilitate employee return to work.
- Identify prevention and health promotion strategies to optimize health of the population.
- Identify emergency situations and provide care within legal scope of practice.
- Administer medications and medical treatments competently as directed by the Medical Director.
- Document accurately all elements of nursing assessment, treatments, medications administered, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, following infection control procedures.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidential patient information and medical records.
- Participate in follow-up phone calls and follow-up patient visits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Active, non-restricted state of Kentucky RN license.
- Adult CPR/FA/AED/BBP Certification and Instructor.
- Detailed knowledge of OSHA, BWC, and other federal regulations that govern the workplace.
- Must be flexible to meet the needs of the site project with occasional work, such as taking calls off normal shift hours/weekends.
