Purpose:

Sales and Business Development Mortgage Loan Originator at BankFive. The ideal candidate will be responsible for originating residential mortgage loans and expanding the business of current customers. This role requires the ability to inform, educate, and influence team members to support corporate goals. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of lending procedures and products, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Originate residential mortgage loans and expand the business of current customers.
  • Develop relationships with attorneys, developers, and real estate brokers to generate new mortgage business.
  • Handle complex mortgages that involve significant sums of money.
  • Ability to inform, educate, and influence team members to support corporate goals.
  • Completion of loan applications in compliance with Federal Fair Lending Laws and secondary and Bank Five lending guidelines.
  • Maintain a working relationship with Realtors, Attorneys, Builders, etc.
  • Communicate to Realtors and applicants the Bank's loan products and programs.
  • Resolve problems as they arise during the application process.
  • Follow Bank procedures in documenting and submitting loans in a timely manner and in accordance with TRID guidelines.
  • Arrange work schedule to accommodate borrower needs, which may include evening and weekend appointments.
  • Attend outside functions to increase business development.
  • Participate in local community and civic organizations on behalf of the Bank.
  • Attend sales meetings as required.
  • Assist with the implementation and communication of new programs and guideline changes.
  • Accountable for production goals as set by management.
  • Pricing and locking loans per Bank procedures.
  • Review of production reports as it relates to performance dates, rate lock dates, and borrower needs.
  • Weekly pipeline meetings with assigned processor.

Qualifications:

  • Previous mortgage lending experience with a portfolio.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing to explain detailed lending concepts to a diverse customer base.
  • Experience with Encompass preferred.
  • Must have and maintain, or be eligible for NMLS registration.
  • Working knowledge of a wide range of lending procedures and products.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Loan Origination software.

  • Able to meet strict deadlines.
  • Work includes changing priorities for multiple, simultaneous projects.
  • Position frequently moves from sitting to standing to walking.
  • Essential to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Use of hands and fingers to handle/operate a computer and other office machinery.
  • Frequently communicates verbally using telephone to exchange information.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus.
  • Regular travel between main office and branches, and to customer appointments on a daily basis.
  • Position requires a valid driver's license and good driving record.

Work Environment:
Position involves work outside of the Bank, although some work is completed in Banking offices when completing paperwork or meeting with customers; high noise levels and frequent distractions from coworkers should be expected.
