Kettering Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely laboratory results to support patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of laboratory tests, including chemical, microbiologic, immunologic, hematologic, and immunohematologic procedures.
- Correlate laboratory results to disease processes and understand basic physiology.
- Review and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform instrument checks, quality control, and routine equipment maintenance.
- Identify and initiate corrective action for quality control issues.
- Document and notify lab leadership as necessary.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college/university, including courses in biological science, chemistry, and mathematics.
- Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Science program or BS/BA program in a related science.
- MT/MLS (ASCP) or MT/MLS (AMT) certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASCP certification preferred.
- Recent Microbiology experience preferred.
