We are a dynamic and expanding full-service law firm seeking to enhance our Commercial Litigation Department with a skilled paralegal. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collecting, organizing, summarizing, and indexing extensive documentation for complex cases.
- Drafting correspondence, standard pleadings, motions, disclosure requests, and other legal documents in accordance with judicial protocols.
- Preparing and managing document bundles for hearings and proceedings, both in physical and digital formats.
- Engaging directly with clients and external parties regarding document collection and management.
- Maintaining organized file management systems, including updating shared drives and physical folders with essential documents.
- Coordinating deposition schedules.
- Handling phone communications and accurately relaying messages for multiple attorneys while managing calendars.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in drafting legal documents, including discovery demands, motions, stipulations, subpoenas, and notices.
- Expertise in formatting briefs and assembling exhibit books.
- Familiarity with OCR technology.
- Experience in filing court documents, including electronic filing in state and federal jurisdictions.
- Ability to track court dates and manage deadlines effectively.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the capacity to handle a high volume of cases.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook), Adobe, Westlaw, and legal timekeeping software.
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor are essential.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Paralegal certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Outstanding client service and problem-solving abilities; litigation experience is advantageous.
- Proactive and anticipatory mindset.
- Solid understanding of computer applications and software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to maintain composure and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with all levels of staff.
We offer a competitive salary based on experience, ranging from $55,000 to $75,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package including 401k, medical, dental, life insurance, and paid time off.
