Physician and Surgeon, Correctional Facility

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and the California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) are seeking a Physician and Surgeon, Correctional Facility (Internal Medicine/Family Practice) to provide medical care to patients in a correctional facility. The ideal candidate will possess the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California and a valid internal medicine or family medicine Medical or Osteopathic Specialty Certificate issued by an American Medical Specialty Board or an American Osteopathic Specialty Board.
Key Responsibilities- Provide medical assessments and treatment to assigned patients as appropriate and authorized by the medical license.
- Provide clinical consultation to midlevel providers and other staff and instruct nursing and other clinical staff on medical protocols and adhere to professional medical standards of care.
- Perform on-call duties as assigned.
- Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the Medical Board of California or the California Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
- Possession of a valid internal medicine or family medicine Medical or Osteopathic Specialty Certificate issued by an American Medical Specialty Board or an American Osteopathic Specialty Board.
