Biostatistician Job Description

The Department of Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is seeking a skilled Biostatistician to join their data analysis center study team. As an integral part of the team, the successful candidate will collaborate with epidemiologists, statisticians, and investigators to manage and analyze complex multicenter longitudinal data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement statistical methods to advance the scientific goals of a national child's health study.
  • Create analytical plans, develop specifications for analytic datasets, and write and implement statistical programs.
  • Provide statistical consultation for PI, co-investigators, and other staff, and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Support multiple research projects, and demonstrate proactive, resourceful, self-directed, highly organized, and independent work habits.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative field.
  • One year of related experience, or a demonstrated ability on a significant graduate project or additional doctoral education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience analyzing longitudinal data in the context of a research study.
  • Knowledge of advanced methods, such as multiple imputation, propensity scores, and geospatial analyses.
  • Proficiency in statistical software, including Stata, SAS, or R.

Working Conditions:

The Biostatistician will work in a hybrid environment, with on-site work required 3-4 days a week. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team and will have opportunities for professional growth and development.
