About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sourcing Engineer to join our team at Ingersoll Rand. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our engineering, operations, and quality teams, as well as our key suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead negotiations and supplier selection processes, ensuring the best possible outcomes for Ingersoll Rand and our customers.
  • Continuously identify and analyze data to drive cost savings and improve supplier performance.
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to qualify new parts and address quality, delivery, and warranty issues.
  • Negotiate key terms with suppliers, including pricing, payment terms, lead time, and inventory programs.
  • Record and track performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of sourcing activities and savings.
  • Support local teams in resolving escalated issues and provide guidance on procurement best practices.
  • Lead procurement activities through preferred supplier programs and RFQs.
  • Align strategies between commodity and sector localization, plant rationalization, and other initiatives.
  • Collaborate with commodity teams, materials, operations, engineering, finance, quality, and field operations to complete projects and achieve expected benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of progressive job-related experience, preferably in a sourcing or supply chain role.
  • Well-developed negotiation skills and ability to assess vendors.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Proficiency in Excel at an advanced level, including financial and logical functions, and ability to work with multiple worksheets and workbooks.
  • Previous lean manufacturing or 6 Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt experience is a plus.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data to drive decisions and present results to management.
  • Oracle and SAP experience in a global environment is preferred.
