Sourcing Engineer

The Sourcing Engineer is a key member of our team, responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our engineering, operations, and quality teams, as well as key suppliers. This role requires a strong understanding of cost optimization strategies and the ability to negotiate with suppliers to achieve maximum results for Ingersoll Rand and our customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead negotiations and supplier selection processes, including the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, with all stakeholders.
- Continuously identify new savings opportunities through data analysis and hands-on review of materials in production areas.
- Work with suppliers and internal team members to qualify new parts and address significant and/or systemic issues with performance, quality, delivery, and warranty.
- Negotiate key items with suppliers, including pricing, payment terms, lead time, and inventory programs.
- Record and track information for timely and accurate measurement of performance regarding sourcing activities and savings.
- Support plants in resolving escalated issues efficiently.
- Lead Procurement NPD activities through preferred supplier programs and RFQs.
- Align strategies between commodity and sector localization, plant rationalization, and similar initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent.
- 1+ years of progressive job-related experience.
- Prior experience in a sourcing or supply chain role preferred.
- Well-developed negotiation skills and vendor assessment abilities.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word, is required.
- Proficiency in Excel at an advanced level is strongly preferred.
- Previous lean manufacturing or 6 Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt experience a plus.
- Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data, confirming its accuracy and adequacy, and using it to drive decisions and present results and business cases to management.
- Oracle and SAP experience in a global environment is preferred.
