Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed reviews of project plans, specifications, and related documents to create accurate cost estimates for multi-family residential projects.
- Engage with architects, engineers, and project managers to gain insights into project scope and requirements.
- Identify and quantify all essential materials, labor, equipment, and resources necessary for project execution.
- Request and evaluate bids and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Develop and present precise and competitive bids and proposals.
- Contribute to the creation and upkeep of estimating databases and cost models.
- Monitor and report on project expenditures and budget discrepancies.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings, offering valuable input on project planning and scheduling.
- Stay informed about industry trends, construction techniques, and materials.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience as an estimator within the construction sector, particularly in multi-family residential projects.
- Solid understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and cost estimation principles.
- Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
