POSITION OVERVIEW

The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our Food & Beverage team as a Bartender. This role is essential in ensuring that guests receive service in a friendly, professional, and accommodating manner, ultimately leading to complete guest satisfaction. The Bartender is responsible for maintaining the bar area’s appearance and ensuring that service is prompt and courteous while adhering to all standards set by the Grand Sierra Resort.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Embody and promote the GSR Vision and Mission Statement through daily activities.
  • Deliver exceptional beverage service to guests and cocktail staff in a friendly and timely manner.
  • Utilize the POS system to accurately input and process guest orders, including generating checks and handling payments.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of guest areas and equipment, including the removal of empty glasses and bottles, cleaning surfaces, and maintaining overall tidiness.
  • Prepare and maintain the bar setup daily, including restocking supplies and ensuring equipment is ready for service.
  • Engage with guests, addressing inquiries with a positive demeanor and providing information about hotel services and local attractions.
  • Foster relationships with both internal and external customers to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management to support the team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A combination of education, training, or experience that equips the individual with the necessary knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to obtain and renew all required licenses (Gaming Registration, Alcohol Awareness Education Certification).
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules based on the operational needs of the hotel.
  • Commitment to exceeding the expectations of both internal and external clients.
  • Exhibit honesty and respect towards others in all interactions.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, presenting information clearly and concisely.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Maintain regular attendance to fulfill job responsibilities effectively.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee must possess the stamina and mental resilience to thrive in a fast-paced casino environment. Responsibilities include frequent standing, walking, and moving throughout the venue, as well as using hands for various tasks. The role may require reaching above shoulder level, bending, lifting, and pushing/pulling. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
