Job Title: Veterans Program Administrator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Veterans Program Administrator to join our team at the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and developing the Homeless Veterans Program, working closely with various stakeholders to improve the lives of homeless veterans in Kentucky.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform outreach to improve homeless veterans' awareness of eligibility for federal and state veterans' services and benefits.
  • Review programs, research projects, and other initiatives designed to address or meet the needs of Kentucky's homeless veterans.
  • Participate in national forums and committees for homeless veterans.
  • Provide resources and support to assist veterans across the commonwealth in obtaining housing.
  • Identify and network with businesses and organizations for the purpose of advocating for homeless veterans.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Four years of experience as a military officer, noncommissioned officer, benefits counselor, or professional experience in a human service program or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate study in social work, sociology, psychology, or a related field.
Working Conditions:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. May require frequent travel throughout the state.
