About the Role

TikTok is a leading global social media platform that is committed to creating an inclusive and diverse work environment. We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer Graduate to join our E-Commerce Risk Control (ECRC) team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Machine Learning Solutions: Design and develop innovative machine learning algorithms to manage business risks in TikTok's products and platforms.
  2. Prototype and Explore Novel Solutions: Create prototypes and explore novel solutions to validate hypotheses and provide insights to Product and Tech teams.
  3. Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work with cross-functional teams to enhance current automation processes and build efficient data querying infrastructure for real-time and offline analysis.
  4. Define Risk Control Metrics: Develop and implement risk control metrics and promote data-driven practices to align teams and stakeholders on numeric goals for risk control.
  5. Document Technical Processes: Document technical processes and effectively communicate results through writing, visualizations, and presentations.
Requirements
  1. Master's or PhD Degree: Hold a Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field.
  2. Technical Skills: Possess proficiency in modern machine learning theories and applications, including ensemble trees, deep neural networks, transfer/multi-task learning, reinforcement learning, graph theory, and unsupervised learning.
  3. Programming Skills: Have experience with Python, SQL/Hive, and Hadoop.
  4. Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate strong problem-solving ability, detail-oriented, effective time management, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Software Engineering Experience: Have demonstrated software engineering experience from previous internship, work experience, coding competitions, or publications.
  2. Research Experience: Have internship experience or research experience, especially in e-commerce, risk control domain.
  3. Curiosity and Creativity: Show high levels of curiosity towards new technologies and entrepreneurship, and quick problem-solving capabilities.
