Position Overview

Wrestling Program Leadership at SUNY Ulster

This part-time role, requiring under 17.5 hours per week, involves overseeing the wrestling program at SUNY Ulster County Community College. The Head Wrestling Coach will report directly to the Director of Athletics and will be tasked with the comprehensive management and strategic direction of the wrestling team.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Coaching and mentoring student-athletes to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Recruiting talented individuals to join the wrestling program.
  • Organizing team travel and logistics.
  • Engaging in fundraising initiatives to support the program.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Fostering positive relationships with students, faculty, alumni, and the broader community.
Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Current knowledge of NCAA or NJCAA regulations.
  • Proven ability to recruit collegiate-level athletes.
  • Prior coaching experience.
  • Commitment to academic success and athlete graduation.
  • Ability to effectively interact with diverse groups.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher.
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting student-athletes.
  • Experience in collegiate coaching.
Compensation:

The salary for this position is set at $7,500 for the term.
