Volt is seeking a skilled Electrical Power Engineer to join our team.

The Electrical Power Engineer will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of electrical control systems and components tailored to meet specific requirements, with an emphasis on medium and high voltage systems. Responsibilities include performing arc flash studies, designing switchgear, enforcing electrical standards, facilitating electrical upgrades, and ensuring effective integration with PLC/SCADA systems. This position offers a direct hire opportunity.

As the Electrical Power Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining electrical control systems for medium and high voltage applications.
  • Conducting arc flash studies to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations.
  • Creating switchgear and other electrical components to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Implementing and upholding electrical standards and practices to guarantee consistency and quality.
  • Assisting with electrical upgrades and modifications to existing systems, ensuring minimal operational disruption.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems with PLC/SCADA systems for smooth operation.
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance on electrical engineering issues to both internal teams and external partners.
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends and advancements in electrical engineering to foster innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations in all electrical engineering activities.
This is a full-time, DIRECT HIRE opportunity.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, particularly in medium and high voltage systems.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong expertise in arc flash studies, switchgear design, and the implementation of electrical standards.
  • Experience with PLC/SCADA systems and their integration into electrical control systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations, including NFPA 70E and IEEE standards.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not mandatory.
Salary: $125-165K annually *The pay range offered to a successful candidate will be determined based on various factors, including education, work experience, job duties, certifications, etc.
