Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Piedmont Medical Care Corporation. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Meet and greet patients, obtain necessary information, and accurately document patient medical and physical histories in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Record vital signs, perform EKG, spirometry, and other office procedures, and assist licensed staff during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
- Perform lab duties, including phlebotomy, order entry, specimen collection, and labeling for delivery to the appropriate authority for testing.
- Under the supervision of licensed personnel, distribute educational information and instructions for patient care, diagnostics, and treatments.
- Coordinate telephone and in-basket requests to refill prescription medications and report test results in accordance with provider instructions.
- Prepare and maintain examination/treatment rooms, including inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Practice Standard Precautions, including handwashing and disposal of bio-hazardous materials, and comply with established risk management, HIPAA, and safety procedures.
- Attend required meetings, in-services, and participate in committees as required.
- Assist with administrative duties as needed, including procedure scheduling and completion of medical and physical history forms.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program is required.
- BLS certification is required.
- Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization is required.
