We are seeking a highly motivated Construction Manager with utility construction experience to join our team in Jackson, MS.

About the Role

The Construction Manager will work closely with the client, JXN Water, Inc. and other consultants to ensure the successful execution of water infrastructure projects. The role will involve monitoring and reporting on the work being executed on site by the construction contractor(s) and their sub-contractors, as well as coordinating with a team of project controls, quality inspectors, civil engineers, and administration staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide construction management leadership to the project team in support of the client.
  • Monitor and report on the work being executed on site, making recommendations on proposed remedial actions for client approval.
  • Provide Health and Safety leadership for the work and assist with the development and implementation of the project-specific safety plan.
  • Efficiently manage multiple concurrent projects, utilizing technical expertise in relevant areas of design and construction.
  • Thoroughly understand construction management practices, methods, costs, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Understand legal design and construction requirements for public works contracts.
  • Solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
  • Participate in project team settings, engaging in creative and critical thought, and effectively communicate ideas, design issues, and solutions to others.
  • Lead the preparation and coordination of project deliverables and documents, including project reports, cost and schedule reporting, specification reviews, and recommendations.
Requirements
  • 5 years' experience in civil construction projects.
  • Bachelor's degree (or working towards) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental, or another applicable field.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with familiarity with Cartagraph, Raken construction reports, and ArcGIS a plus.
