Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns, conducting tax research and planning assignments, and maintaining general ledger balances of selected tax accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns, including consolidated corporate income tax returns
  • Conduct tax research and planning assignments to optimize state and federal business tax credits
  • Maintain general ledger balances of selected tax accounts, including quarterly reconciliations
  • Work closely with accounting and other groups to obtain and validate information for income tax preparation
  • Review and analyze tax books within the fixed asset system, including reconciliation of any GAAP books and tax books differences
  • Prepare domestic reporting for foreign entities
  • Assist with due diligence on acquisitions and respond to requests related to federal and state audits
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and their impact on the company
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Master's degree in taxation and CPA highly desirable
  • Three to four years of experience in the tax area, preferably at a public accounting firm
  • Extensive and proven independent experience in federal consolidated returns (preparation and review) and multi-state tax background
  • Strong conceptual understanding of accounting and financial statements, with experience in accounting for income taxes
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with strong organizational skills and work-paper techniques
  • Proficiency in Excel and other computer skills, with ability to organize, download, and upload large data files
