At Jack Cooper, we are seeking a skilled Diesel Fleet Mechanic to join our world-class maintenance team in Arlington, TX. This union position offers a competitive salary of $30.66 per hour and opportunities for advancement in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
About the Role
As a Diesel Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our fleet of 2600 Semi-Tractors. You will work closely with our team to diagnose and repair engines, suspension and hydraulic systems, air brake systems on Class A trucks, and perform other maintenance tasks as required.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess basic mechanic tools and a valid driver's license. A CDL is preferred, and you must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical. Previous experience in diesel engine repair, welding, and air brake systems is highly desirable.

Work Environment and Schedule
The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration. You will work a 10-hour shift, with options for Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday. A start time of 2:00pm-12:30am is expected, with seniority-based shift bidding.

Requirements:
- Must possess basic mechanic tools as required to work on class 8 trucks (heavy duty).
- Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
- Must meet the medical requirements specified by DOT/MOT, as applicable. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Experience:
- Diagnosing and Repair Engines (1 year preferred)
- Suspension/Hydraulic Systems (1 year preferred)
- Air Brake Systems on Class A Trucks (1 year preferred)
- Welding (1 year preferred)
