Job Summary

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is a highly skilled and licensed registered nurse with advanced specialized training in the administration of anesthesia. This critical care professional is responsible for providing safe and effective anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgery and other procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interprets physician's pre-anesthetic evaluation and lab data to ensure patient safety.
  • Reviews health history, including psychosocial and biophysical factors, to identify potential anesthesia risks.
  • Performs pre-induction examination and inspection of anatomical parts or organ systems related to the formulated anesthetic plan.
  • Administers, monitors, and adjusts anesthetic doses to individual patients, from neonatal through geriatrics, during surgery and other procedures.
  • Identifies and manages emergency situations according to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Monitors life support functions, recording various data, and verifies equipment is in working order.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Experience: Less than 1 year of experience as a CRNA.
  • Certification/License/Registration: Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) certification.
  • ACLS (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications within 30 days of hire or transfer.
