Mechanical Assembly Technician

Job Summary

The Mechanical Assembly Technician will be a key member of The Heico Companies' Mechanical Assembly Department. This role will report directly to the Mechanical Assembly Supervisor and will be responsible for building machines that meet design specifications while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints and follow work instructions to build machinery that meets or exceeds design specifications.
  • Provide support in other areas of the company, including the warehouse, machine shop, weld shop, saw, and inspection.
  • Assist various departments in achieving deadlines by providing manpower during times of backlog.
  • Aid manufacturing engineering and mechanical engineering with job time estimates, attend design reviews, and assist with print corrections.
  • Provide assembling practices to mechanical engineering during design reviews.
  • Ensure all OSHA guidelines are followed with regards to heavy lifting and rigging, and proper use and storage of all oils and fluids.
  • Maintain work area in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks, including having a good attitude, starting work on time, working overtime when necessary, performing good housekeeping, communicating with others, being aware of his/her area and other's safety, and being a good team member.
  • Assist the Painter as needed.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to obtain Heavy Lift Certification and Industrial Powered Vehicles License.
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret pneumatic schematics.
  • Advanced ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • 1-2 years of mechanical assembly experience required.
  • Working knowledge of all Bartell manufacturing processes and technologies (Note: This requirement may be adapted to The Heico Companies' specific processes and technologies).
  • Strong communication and conceptual skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • Assembly of industrial equipment.
