We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist 2 to join our team at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System. As a Phlebotomist 2, you will be responsible for drawing and collecting blood samples from patients, verifying records, and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood samples from patients using proper techniques and equipment.
- Verify patient records and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Operate laboratory centrifuge and other equipment as needed.
- Perform all pre-analytical functions and rely on established guidelines to accomplish tasks.
- Develop a complete understanding of specimen collection and handling to preserve specimen validity and integrity.
- Provide excellent customer service and work independently outside the main lab.
- May direct or lead the work of others.
- 1 year Phlebotomy experience.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Phlebotomy, MLA, or MA certification or license obtained within three months of employment.
- Good interpersonal/human relations skills, good oral/written communication skills, good teamwork skills, good critical thinking/decision making skills, and good organizational skills.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment and to maintain a safe and clean work area. The successful candidate will be required to wear appropriate PPE and to follow established guidelines for specimen collection and handling.
