Position Summary
We are currently seeking a Lead Fund Accounting Supervisor to enhance our accomplished team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the financial records for various private investment partnerships and managed accounts.
- Supervise and mentor offshore accounting teams in the preparation and maintenance of financial documentation.
- Review and rectify daily cash and asset reconciliation discrepancies.
- Document and reconcile hedging activities, ensuring proper investment hedging.
- Evaluate and authorize the postings of intricate corporate actions.
- Estimate and record monthly closing accruals.
- Calculate income and expense distributions for each partner, including updates to the distribution waterfall in accordance with governing documents.
- Prepare and manage distributions and capital calls.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for clients.
- Analyze and compute performance metrics for partnerships and individual investments.
- Collaborate with independent auditors, custodians, prime brokers, and fund administrators.
- Engage in various projects as required.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in a combination of public and private accounting, with at least 5 years in the financial services sector, ideally within investment management.
- Strong expertise in reconciliation and account analysis.
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and the ability to apply relevant investment company accounting standards.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the capability to resolve complex issues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience with SS&C Geneva is highly advantageous.
Education
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required. CPA certification is a plus.
