Role Overview

The Patient Admissions Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the admission process for patients at KidsPeace Children's Hospital, ensuring a smooth transition from referral to admission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stay updated on the admission requirements for both Hospital and Residential programs.
  • Oversee pre-admission activities for all referrals, including conducting telephone screenings.
  • Support referral sources and families in selecting KidsPeace for their care.
  • Attend to all details related to admissions and follow up as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Hospital Admissions Supervisor to enhance the quality of admissions processes.
  • Maintain knowledge of the KidsPeace continuum of services and promote internal transfers and referrals of children and families when clinically appropriate.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred, ideally with a background in psychology, social work, or counseling.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
  • A solid understanding of the clinical needs of children and adolescents is essential.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications are required; a valid Driver's License is preferred but not mandatory.
