Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Security Officer to join our team at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, guests, and employees. Key Responsibilities- Enforce all company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies on company property.
- Conduct routine inspections of on-site and off-site locations of the company.
- Investigate accidents and other incidents which are assigned and report all occurrences in a timely manner.
- Perform opening/lockdown of all buildings as approved by Administration.
- Participate in emergency response and related preparedness drills.
- Maintain required annual certifications and completes training requirements within required time periods.
- Operate and manage our visitor management system.
- Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (within 30 days from hire).
- Valid Louisiana drivers license and clean DMV report.
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) (within 60 days from hire).
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
- Ability to continuously walk the company property including outside areas, interior areas, using stairwells in 11 floor plus structure.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability).

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue, but exposure or potential for exposure may occur.
The incumbent works with patients who have known or suspected communicable diseases and may enter isolation rooms. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
