Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Mental Health Specialist to join our team of professionals. As an Intake Counselor, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of potential patients and facilitating the admission process. You will maintain communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff, providing a safe and nurturing environment for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to telephone and face-to-face inquiries from individuals seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services.
  • Conduct clinical assessments, utilizing appropriate clinical forms during assessment, and develop a sound knowledge of applicable criteria.
  • Document reviews show that forms, notes, and other applicable written information have been completed promptly and accurately.
Qualifications
  • Education: Master's Degree in a Human Service field (e.g., Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, etc.), or RN - preferably BSN.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience preferred in psychiatric healthcare. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field.
  • Licensure/Certification: Licensed Louisiana RN, LCSW, LMSW, LPC, PLPC preferred.

Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000 - $80,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
