Job Overview

Salary: Competitive

Summary/Objective: Upholds the mission of HarperGC while delivering comprehensive leadership, management, and guidance across various projects. Sets project goals and guidelines, maintains communication with primary contract clients, and oversees construction timelines and financial activities throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategically plan, organize, and allocate key field roles through the Safety Coordinator and/or General Superintendent.
  • Develop, update, and oversee the project timeline.
  • Formulate the project budget upon assignment and notification of contract award.
  • Manage financial elements of contracts, including fee payments, equipment rentals, and income/expenses, to safeguard the company's interests while fostering positive client relationships.
  • Maintain accurate forecasts consistently.
  • Oversee the procurement process for labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Provide estimating with actual cost data to improve the accuracy of future bids.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Work Environment: This role requires working in diverse conditions typical of construction sites and necessitates the ability to perform physical tasks as assigned. Exposure to varying weather conditions is expected.

Physical Demands:

  • The project manager must inspect ongoing construction activities throughout the project duration, which may involve navigating varied terrain, climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting. Assistance is available for heavier loads.
  • Quality inspections may require climbing ladders, stairs, and scaffolding.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel to various job sites and offices is necessary, with minimal overnight or weekend travel.
  • A valid state-issued driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are required for this position.

Education and Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Project Management, including a minimum of 2.5 years as an Assistant Project Manager.
  • Proficient in scheduling, including the ability to create and update comprehensive project schedules and understand critical milestones.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution regarding design issues with trade partners and architects/engineers.
  • Capable of leading effective coordination meetings with trade partners and managing agendas.
  • Experience in managing quality assurance and quality control programs.
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies, including conflict coordination and layout in the field.
  • OSHA 30 certification is required.
  • Proven commitment to safety culture on the job site.
  • Experience in ground-up construction on multiple projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and practices across various scopes of work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with local agencies and utility representatives.
  • Comprehensive understanding of plans, specifications, and general conditions.
