Responsibilities
• Provide IH oversight to the Mount Clemens Plant, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Develop and implement RC 14001 audit processes, ensuring effective management of environmental and health risks.
• Conduct exposure assessments, industrial hygiene monitoring, and indoor air quality investigations to identify potential health stressors and recommend corrective actions.
• Collect, review, and document exposure assessment and monitoring data to ensure compliance with legal and corporate requirements.
• Prepare and maintain standards, procedures, and training for industrial hygiene related topics to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
• Collaborate with Health Care Services to maintain and update exposure-based medical surveillance programs.
• Manage and maintain industrial hygiene equipment and associated software to ensure effective monitoring and control of environmental and health risks.
• Conduct industrial hygiene audits following client's audit process to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Serve as the local subject matter expert in the areas of chemical, physical, and biological agent exposure control, emergency response air monitoring techniques, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and Industrial Hygiene sampling equipment.
• Responsible for the management of all Industrial Hygiene programs, including the R&D lab chemical hygiene plan.
• Develop and provide training to personnel on a variety of IH and health topics to ensure effective management of environmental and health risks.
• Facilitate incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Responsible for the industrial hygiene and health reviews of MOCs and PSSRs, as well as assisting with chemical inventory and changes.
Qualification
• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Safety Management, or related field.
• Hands-on experience in the implementation of occupational health components within an EHS system (hearing conservation, hazard communication, PPE, bloodborne pathogens, medical monitoring, etc.).
• Five (5) years EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
• Ability to travel (up to 25%).
