Key Responsibilities:
  • Gain a thorough understanding of Pre and Post-Sale Proactive Client Management, Education, Development, Growth, and Retention for the core market.
  • Establish and nurture personal relationships with brokers, enrollment firms, and clients within the assigned business segment.
  • Learn to formulate and execute customer-specific business strategies.
  • Contribute to the profitable growth of the existing client base.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to enhance pre-renewal communication, aiming to boost reenrollment effectiveness and mitigate renewal challenges.
  • Develop knowledge of Unum's enrollment capabilities, services, and tools, and effectively communicate enrollment strategies to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Implementation Manager to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Participate in local benefit fair initiatives alongside the Field Office team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with enrollment firms for larger client accounts.
  • Partner with Sales Representatives, Marketing Consultants, and Home Office teams to execute all operational strategies effectively.
  • Provide comprehensive updates to clients and brokers, addressing feedback and pertinent action items that influence sales performance.
  • Learn to prepare and present renewal proposals that drive client retention and profitability.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • Prior experience in the employee benefits sector is preferred.
  • Must obtain a license to sell insurance in the designated states within 90 days of hire or promotion.
  • Strong focus on growth and sales.
  • Develop an understanding of Unum's product and service offerings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude with the ability to utilize and leverage technology and systems.
  • Excellent negotiation, persuasion, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to think strategically while executing tactically.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
