Key Responsibilities and Essential Competencies:

  • Support the secure operation and excellence of the laboratory to achieve organizational objectives.

· May be tasked with adjusting, maintaining, and calibrating analytical instruments.

  • Ensure all laboratory apparatus and workspaces are tidy and functioning correctly.
  • Perform routine evaluations and validation of production samples, intermediate materials, and incoming raw substances according to established testing protocols and specifications.
  • Execute any urgent or special tests as directed by the Quality Manager or Plant Management.
  • Organize and securely store laboratory supplies and chemicals.
  • Oversee laboratory reagent and consumable stock levels, notifying management when replacements are necessary.
  • Conduct standard laboratory testing procedures utilizing provided equipment, including GC, IR, ICP spectroscopy, titrations, colorimetric analysis, viscosity measurements, and more.

· May carry out intricate tests employing advanced techniques with electrical, chemical, and mechanical apparatus, including setup, calibration, troubleshooting, monitoring, and data collection.

· Input test results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and verify for precision, drafting and submitting Material Review Reports to the Quality Manager as needed.

· Properly manage hazardous waste disposal, and clean and prepare glassware and other laboratory tools.

· Comply with quality systems and standards to maintain a safe working environment and processes.

  • Ensure effective and thorough shift handover and takeover at the start and end of shifts.
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned by management or supervisory personnel.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field, preferably in Chemistry.

· Prior experience in laboratory testing is preferred.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Excellent documentation and reporting skills.

· Ability to comprehend and adhere to standards, protocols, policies, and procedures, including ISO, ASTM, IEC, and FTMS.

· Advanced technical experience in a laboratory environment within the pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, or chemical sectors is preferred.

· General understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

· Capability to clearly identify and communicate issues that require resolution and take proactive measures to prevent future occurrences.

· Ability to work independently and efficiently execute assigned responsibilities.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

· Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
